L <br />Reading School Committee <br />Reading, Massachusetts <br />Regular Session October 16, 2006 <br />all to Order <br />Chair Webb called the regular session to order at 7:31 p.m. in the Multi-Purpose Room at Coolidge Middle <br />School. Present were Ms. Webb, Mr. Caruso, Mr. Michaud, Mr. McFadden, Mrs. Gibbs, and Mr. Dahl. Also <br />present were Superintendent Patrick Schettini, Jr., Assistant Superintendent John Doherty, Director of Human <br />Resource and Finances Mary DeLai, RMHS Principal Joseph Finigan and RMHS Social Studies Teacher Gary <br />d'Entremont. 0 <br />m <br />z ca <br />Bills and Payrolls <br />rn <br />C--; * rte. <br /> <br />Bills and Payroll were circulated. <br />New Business <br /> <br /> <br />cn <br />Approve RMHS Field Trip to London <br />w <br />Mr. Gary D'Entremont, a social studies teacher at RMHS and Mr. Finigan presented some information about <br />the proposed field trip to London England. <br />Mr. Caruso moved to approve the Reading Memorial High School field trip to London, England as <br />outlined in the Superintendent's memorandum dated October 12, 2006. Seconded by Mrs. Gibbs. The <br />~2tion passed 6-0. <br />Mrs. Webb read the Reading Public Schools Mission Statement. <br />Gifts <br />There were no gifts. <br />Citizens' Input <br />There was no citizen's input. <br />Reports of Chairman, Liaisons and Superintendent <br />Mrs. Webb gave a recap of what has happened since the last School Committee meeting on September 28th, <br />including attending various town board meetings, building project inspections, and the presentation of the 15.3 <br />million dollar check from Treasurer Timothy Cahill for the final payment on the RMHS building project. <br />Several school committee members commented on the receipt of the final payment. Mrs. Gibbs praised the <br />high school administration for their hard work during the building project. <br />Superintendent Schettini discussed the presentation that he made to the local realtors this morning on the <br />-mission and direction of the Reading Public Schools. <br />
