Regular Session 2 March 12, 2007 <br />• The RMHS Performing Arts Department presents "A Night in New Orleans" on <br />Friday, March 30 at 7:00 p.m. <br />Chairperson Webb talked about a performance she recently attended of the Reading <br />Symphony Orchestra at the Fine and Performing Arts Center. She also gave an update of <br />her and the Superintendent's attendance at the MASC Conference and a conference that <br />focused on the report, Tough Choices, Tough Times. She announced that the Coolidge <br />Spelling Bee is on March 31St and that the School Committee has a team which will be <br />participating in the Bee. <br />Old Business <br />Building Project Update <br />Scott Dunlap from AI3 gave an update on the RMHS Building Project. He spoke of the <br />following: <br />• The final phase of the project, which includes the demolition of the old building. <br />• An update on the punch list. <br />• An update on the HVAC subcontractor which has underperformed on this project <br />and the options that the School Committee has to make sure that the HVAC punch <br />list has been completed. <br />Mrs Gibbs moved to request that the RMHS protect architect, Design Partnership <br />of Cambridge, prepare all applicable documents to exercise the option to take over <br />the work of the HVAC for the project in accordance with Article 2.4 of the General <br />Conditions of the Contract with TLT Construction of Wakefield, the general <br />contractor for the RMHS project Further to authorize the Superintendent to enact <br />this motion on behalf of the School Committee. Seconded by Mr. Caruso. Motion <br />passes 6-0 Mrs Gibbs, Ms Webb, Mr. McFadden, Mr. Caruso, Mr. Dahl and Mr. <br />Michaud. <br />Mr. Dunlap continued his update on the status of the track and the punch list items <br />associated with the track. These punch list items have not been addressed in an effective <br />manner. <br />Mrs Gibbs moved to request that the RMHS project architect, Design Partnership <br />of Cambridge, prepare all applicable documents to exercise the option to take over <br />the work of the Outdoor Track for the project in accordance with Article 2.4 of the <br />General Conditions of the Contract with TLT Construction of Wakefield, the <br />general contractor for the RMHS Project. Further to authorize the Superintendent <br />to enact this motion on behalf of the School Committee. Seconded by Mr. Caruso. <br />Motion passes 6-0. Mrs. Gibbs, Ms. Webb, Mr. McFadden, Mr. Caruso, Mr. Dahl <br />and Mr. Michaud. <br />Mr. Dunlap continued his update by discussing the Phase 3 demolition and the asbestos <br />removal. <br />
