Town of Reading - Meeting Minutes <br />1. "As of right" for energy facilities in our zoning by-laws (site plan review) <br />2. Prove we can expedite permitting for renewable energy facilities. <br />3. Energy reduction plan (20%) for controllable facilities over the next 5 years <br />(since 2017) <br />4. Fuel efficient vehicles for Town use/purchases <br />S. Adopt the stretch code for building construction. <br />Time frame to complete the 5 elements is about 12 to 18 months. <br />. Route 28 Road Diet <br />• Howard Stein Hudson (Nate Lash) summary of road diet summary. <br />• Jeff commented on the statistics related to crash analysis. <br />• Roadway diet was an integral part of the repaving project. <br />• Painting of North section has begun this week. <br />Criteria for determining acceptance criteria for the road diet's implementation <br />after the pilot. <br />• Talk with neighbors about the impacts from road diet. <br />• Membership Status <br />• No new Information in the expected changes in Committee Membership <br />Have opening for one Associate Member <br />• Reading Climate Advisory Committee Barrel at Train Station <br />• Memorial Day ribbon has been added to the barrel. <br />• The barrel at the train station has been replanted with native plants from Mary <br />Howard's yard. <br />• Recycling and Reuse of Bags <br />• Public Health has an order that says customers "shall not" bring cloth bags into <br />stores for purchases. <br />• Liquor stores and recycling centers have not been accepting returnable bottles. <br />Next meeting 6/10/2020 at 7:00 pm <br />Page 12 <br />
