A. <br />got - <br />2023 MAR —8 PM 3:09 <br />Board - Committee - Commission - Council: <br />Climate Advisory Committee <br />Date: 2020-05-27 <br />Building: Reading Town Hall <br />Address: 16 Lowell Street <br />Purpose: Bi -monthly meeting <br />Attendees: Members - Present: <br />Time: 7:00 PM <br />Location: Conference Room <br />David Zeek, chair; Ray Porter, secretary; Denise McCarthy, associate <br />member; Peter MacGown, Associate member; Gina Snyder, Associate <br />member, Celeste Kracke, member; Patti Cameron RMLD, member; Jeff <br />Everson; member; <br />Members - Not Present: <br />Others Present: <br />Julie Mercier, Community Development Director <br />Minutes Respectfully Submitted By: Ray Porter <br />Topics of Discussion: <br />Meeting was held via a Zoom Conference Call <br />Welcome to Members and Guests <br />Review minutes, vote on acceptance <br />Meeting minutes for 5/13/2020 was accepted as amended. <br />Meeting minutes for 4/22/2020 was accepted as amended. <br />Ongoing Business: <br />• Sustainability Plan - Draft <br />• Reviewed additional slides added to the Sustainability presentation <br />• Discussed the content of the Introduction and Approach Slides <br />• Graphic of the cost-risk/benefit in the backup slides could be moved up to an <br />earlier slide. <br />• Add RMLD LEAP slide to the backup slide that highlights renewable energy <br />recommendations. <br />Adopting the Green Communities Program <br />• Julie Mercier joined to talk about being a "Green Community" designation <br />• Reading Town Meeting gave an instructional motion to join the Green Community <br />designation. Reading does not have a property that draws power from an investor <br />owned utility. <br />• Karen Herrick has had a discussion with RMLD (Colleen) to join the Green <br />Communities program. <br />• RMLD has the ability to bill Reading separately for the renewable trust fund. <br />• Five elements <br />Page I 1 <br />
