This <br />increase was necessary because of the difference in rents from t <br />appropriated year of 1975 until the fair market rents of 1988. <br />Upon a motion duly made by Ms. Carlson and seconded by Mr. Mcls <br />it was unanimously <br />VOTED: To authorize the Chairman to sign and to approve the sub itted <br />amendment to our current Annual Contributions Contract with H.U. . <br />from $102,000 to $204,000 for our Project Number MA06 =EO75 -001. <br />The Chairman then declared said motion carried and said vote in effect. <br />PERSONNEL <br />ue to the ever increasing workload with the additional units of <br />Section 8 and 707 housing along with the Modernization work being <br />done at the elderly complex, the need for additional staffing is <br />acute. The Director and the Fee Accountant reviewed the avail- <br />ability of funds for an additional person. The programs can <br />accommodate an additional 20 hour person. Upon a motion duly <br />made by Mr. McIsaac and seconded by Ms. Carlson, it was unanimo sly <br />VOTED: To authorize the Executive Director to hire an additi <br />staff person in accordance with the availability of current f <br />The Chairman then declared said motion carried and said vote in <br />effect. <br />Report on Programs <br />Modernization The first building; took a bit longer than anti- <br />cipated but the tenants are back and happy with the renovations. <br />The scheduled renovations should be completed in accordance wits <br />the time schedule in the specifications.. <br />Silver Jubilee of Authority <br />The Chairman of the Board of Selectmen will read a proclamation <br />at Town Meeting in honor of the 25 years of service that the <br />Housing Authority'has given to the Town on Monday, November 28, <br />1988. Mr. Arnold'Berger will spearhead a drive to refurbish <br />the community room at Tanner Drive. The Reading Chronicle will <br />run an article about the Authority's years of service and the <br />need for renovations to the community room. After completion of <br />the modernization work at the complex, the Authority will conduct <br />an open house for clients and townspeople. <br />
