Town of Reading - Meeting Minutes
RMLD, LED street light project, Joan wondered if the committee could help
with a grant project. How can we push solar for the RMLD? Joan spoke with David Talbot on the issue.
Laurie Ann said that RMLD put in their application for the LED program. Three vendors have come to
do several LED street light demonstrations.
Peak Load Reduction: How can we reduce electrical demand on peak days? How we can contact people
to let them know that we need to reduce our peak electrical load. Michele will find out if the police can
take our cell phone numbers to be used for a reverse 911 call. Laurie Ann Sylvia will ask the RMLD if
they would use the reverse 911 to help with peak loads.
Energy efficiency position is still open.
Library building meeting for the new addition and renovation. David Williams attended the meeting- Mr.
Huggins is the facility manager, and Mr. Stepler is consultant for the energy portion of the library facility.
Dave said that the committee would have access to the building plans. Parking was the main concern of
those attending the meeting.
Recycle Bin: Joan sent an e-mail to Jean Delios concerning a recycle bin at the M.F. Charles parking
lot; we are awaiting her reply.
Committee Chair: How do we handle it? Can we get creative?
