READING SCHOOL COMMITTEE MINUTES JANUARY 10, 1993 81 <br />Call to Order <br />A regular meeting of the Reading School Committee was called to order.by Chairman <br />Garroway on January 10, 1983, at 7:06 p.m., in the Central Office Conference Room. <br />All members were present (Mr. Landers arrived at 7:15 and Mr. Nigro at 7:29 p. m.). <br />Also present were Superintendent Wells and Assistant Superintendents Munnelly and <br />Winslow. <br />There were five visitors, including representatives of the Finance Committee, the <br />Citizens Advisory Council and the Daily Times and Chronicle. <br />Approval of the Minutes of January, 3, 1983 <br />Mr. Allen moved, seconded by Mrs. Philbrick, and it was unanimously voted to accept <br />the minutes of the meeting of January 3, 1983, with the following correction: Page 8, <br />paragraph 6, the last sentence should read: "The motion was defeated on a tie vote, <br />with Mr. Allen, Mr. Nigro and Mrs. Philbrick voting in favor and Mr. Coco, Mr. Landers <br />and Mr. Garroway voting against." <br />Approval of Bills and Payrolls <br />Warrants for bills and payrolls were authorized as follows: <br />Bills <br />January 7, 1983 - General Expense - Total - $12,552.66 <br />Payrolls <br />January 14, 1983 - Weekly - Total - $26,034.65 <br />January 13, 1983 - Teachers - Total $294,177.63 <br />Citizens Input <br />There was no citizens input. <br />FY84 Budget Preparation <br />Mr. Winslow gave a recap of fuel oil consumption and cost figures for the past two <br />fiscal years, as requested by the School Committee at the January third meeting, and <br />distributed copies of a paper showing the history of oil deliveries to the various <br />schools since the 1974 -75 year. <br />Mr. Landers moved, seconded by Mrs. Philbrick, and it was voted unanimously to approve, <br />for preliminary budgetary purposes, $329,248 for heating of buildings (4120 series) <br />for FY84. <br />Mr. Winslow said the budget figures for electricity had been revised from $181,030 to <br />$191,646 to comply with recently received Finance Committee guidelines which state that <br />projections for FY84 costs should be 15% more than those of FY83. <br />Mr. Landers moved, seconded by Mr. Allen, and it was unanimously voted to amend the vote <br />of the last meeting by approving, for preliminary budget purposes, $191,646 for elec- <br />tricity (4130 series) for FY84. <br />After consulting with a roofing firm Mr. Winslow recommended that $47,900 be allocated <br />for reroofing the gir i' S gY«�rlasiu�I� at ttie iiigti S1:.11VU1• <br />
