READING SCHOOL COMMITTEE <br />Reading, Massachusetts <br />SCHOOL COMMITTEE MEETING <br />REGULAR SESSION MINUTES FEBRUARY 27, 1989 <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />Chairman George Shannon called the regular meeting of the Reading <br />School Committee to order at 7 :35 p.m. in the Superintendent's <br />Conference Room. All members were present with the exception of <br />Richard Coco and Matt McGee, Student Representative. Also present <br />were Superintendent Robert J. Munnelly, Assistant Superintendents <br />Lynn M. Bak and Ronald A. Winslow. <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />Margaret Cowell moved to approve the minutes from the February 6, <br />1989 meeting. Barbara Philbrick seconded the motion The vote <br />was unanimous. <br />BILLS AND PAYROLLS <br />The warrants for Bills were as follows: <br />BILLS <br />March 6, 1989 - General Expenses - $111,490.67 <br />SCHOOL HIGHLIGHTS <br />Dr. Munnelly turned the meeting over to Reading Memorial High <br />School Assistant Principal, Pat Schettini, who introduced the <br />officers of the Class of 1990 and faculty advisors, Camille <br />Visconti and Emery DeBeck. Class President, Robert Spadafora; <br />Vice President, Amy Harootian; Secretary, Annette Dauphinee and <br />Social Director, Kim Coakley shared information regarding <br />activities and incentives the Junior Class has participated in and <br />has planned for the future. The School Committee and Adminis- <br />tration thanked the participants for the leadership they have <br />taken as class officers. <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />STRATEGIC PLANNING <br />School Commitee members shared their input regarding the Saturday, <br />January 28, 1989, Strategic Planning session with the Administra- <br />tive Council. Members felt that it was a productive agenda and <br />would like to see the meeting time continued. It was agreed that <br />the consensus building we reached that day toward common goals and <br />priorities was worth pursuing to delineate direction and long term <br />plans. This information once identified should be made available <br />to district personnel. <br />
