MEETING CONVENED AT 7:00 P.M.
IN ATTENDANCE
MR. RALPH A. COLORUSSO,MR. ROBERT I.NORDSTRAND,
MR. FRED A. MCGRANE & MR. WILLIAM BOATWRIGHT.
1. APPOINTMENTS—
CLAUSE 18 APPLICANT AT 7:30 PM AND LEFT AT 8:20 PM. MOTION
MADE BY MR. MCGRANE TO APPROVE CLAUSE 18 FOR 100% OF
THE TAX OBLIGATION. THE MOTION WAS SECONDED BY
MR. NORDSTRAND AND UNANIMOUSLY APPROVED. THE BOARD
WAS IN EXECUTIVE SESSION DURING THE ENTIRE MEETING.
2. MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS MEETING/S
MAY 10, 2011-APPROVED 3-0 AS AMENDED
3. TOWN APPRAISER'S REPORT
MR. BOATWRIGHT BRIEFED THE BOARD ON--THE INTEREST DUE
TAXPAYERS ON NEGOTIATED SETTLEMENTS.
4. SIGNINGS WERE COMPLETED

5. NEW BUSINESS
MOTION MADE BY MR. COLORUSSO TO APPROVE $7,500
RRC CONTRACT FOR PERSONAL PROPERTY FOR FY 2012.
MOTION SECONDED MR. NORDSTRAND AND UNANIMOUSLY
APPROVED.
6. GENERAL BUSINESS
THE BOARD CALLED AND SPOKE WITH BETH KLEPEIS IN
AN EFFORT TO OBTAIN CLARIFICATION OF THE INTEREST
DUE TO TAXPAYERS ON AN ABATEMENT. SHE INFORMED
THE BOARD THAT IN PRIOR YEARS THE TOWN OF READING
USED TO CHARGE AN "INTEREST ACCOUNT" FROM BACK
TAXES COLLECTED FOR ANY INTEREST DUE TO THE
TAXPAYER. SHE WENT ON TO SAY THAT IT HAD NEVER
BEEN CHARGED TO THE OVERLAY ACCOUNT. SHE
SUGGESTED THAT THE FINANCE COMMITTEE SHOULD
APPROPRIATE THE NECESSARY MONIES IF NECESSARY TO
FUND THE INTEREST CLAIM.
