Board members M. Rich, C. Arthur and B. Mitchel present. There were also 4 citizens present for the, information session scheduled for 8:00-8:45 P.M. Correspondence Mail was reviewed. Personnel Action form for Board secretary was denied by.the Personnel Board on the grounds that they can no longer ,make upgradings for union personnel. Chairman reviewed the history of the action, initiated on February 1982.and the action form sub- mitted on March 31, 1982. The secretary has filed a grievance per union procedures, with the assistance of union representa- tive, John Upton. Solar Access Mr. Mitchel reported his__.fndings on solar access. zoning and submitted a.report to the. Chairman (copy herewith attached). Board of Appeals 'Open'S'torage Ms. Rich reported on June 13, 1983 Howard Street hearing on open storage. This hearing.'s coricensus was that the regula- tions regarding open storage were too vague. Open Storage is banned in 4.2.2. of the Zoning By-laws, but never defined.. Suggestions was made that the Board investigate what other towns have done regarding such regulations. Questions to be asked are: length of_time; periodic use of stored materials; etc. Accessorv Apartments - Information Session. Citizens present expressed the following concerns: - Can homes be modified to qualify? - No modi.fi.cations after 8/1/82 count toward minimum size. - Mr. Hughes felt that Town Meeting should not be overridden by referendum. Signatures are from a few exclusive neigh- borhoods. He as a Town Meeting member received no protests from. Precinct 7 constituents. Mr. Stein said he will speak.in favor of accessory apart- ments, representing the League of Women Voters, at tomorrow's forum being held by the Democratic Town Committee. Mr. Stein introduced Ms. Mary Beth Bowen from the League also. Meeting Schedule Next meeting 6/29/83 - with report on Scenic Roads regulations; 7/27/83 - with report on Population Study update.
