The Minutes of the April 1, 2010 meeting were approved (4-0).
Discussion about Trails Committee members' renewal dates for the Committee as a few
of us are up for renewal in 2010. Town Hall will send a letter to those whose dates are
coming up for renewal.
Bear Meadow Trail Enhancement Project:
The Committee had a discussion about the Bare Meadow Enhancement pier project
that took place on Saturday, April 10, 2010, and how well things went. The two men
from Bond Brothers, who worked on the project were very helpful. We will remember to
mention Bond Brothers in some way in the future with regard to their participation in
helping to make this part of the project go so smoothly. Kim did send a thank you e-
mail message to Bond Brothers.
We discussed the next part of the project, scheduled future work days, the logistics,
tools needed, ordering and delivery of supplies.
Fran will order the remaining piers on April 16th and request delivery to the DPW garage
on May 6th or May 7t". She will order enough to finish this project and have some to do
a low and wet section of the trail that is closer to Haverhill Street.
Tom will speak with Mike DeBrigard about the multipack/composite cost and would he
be able to drop off more of it at the Haverhill Street entrance.
The lumber will be delivered to Mattera Cabin garage by Moynihan Lumber.
Kim will ask Mark Wetzel if the Bond Brothers would be able to come on the
May 8 work day.
Kim and Fran will put together an e-mail list of volunteers we can ask for help on
this project.
The future work days agreed on are:
Sun., May 2, 2010 - 8:00 a.m. @ Mattera Cabin

Upcoming events the RTC has decided to participate in:
Friends and Family Day - Saturday, June 19, 2010 (11:00 - 3:00)
The committee voted 3-0 to participate in this town event. Susan has volunteered to be
present at this event for the day. Joan will also be there to set up and participate. It
would be great if any other RTC Members and Associate Members were available to
"drop in" and support the effort. Joan will send in the registration form and fee of $10.00
and it was requested that "The Fox" make a public appearance. It does attract a lot of
attention and we hear many visitors' stories of their encounters with wildlife in Reading.
Next Meeting - Tuesday, May 4, 2010 - 7:00 p.m. in the Berger Room
Voted to adjourn the meeting (3-0). The meeting adjourned at 8:40 p.m.
