Alex Murphy is a Boy Scout in Troop 728 who is interested in building a bridge
at the Pinevale Conservation Area and came to the meeting along with his father,
Dave Murphy. Alex discussed the project he is planning, passed out copies of
his plans (a copy of which is attached) and is hoping to begin the project on April
17, 2010. Part of the project is to obtain funding or donations of materials so he
will follow up with Fran regarding the actual start date once he obtains the funds.
He estimates the bridge will cost approximately $700.00. The Trail Committee
approved the project with a vote 5-0.
Sara Mahoney of Keurig- stopped in on the meeting. She works in the
Corporate Relations office of Keurig located on Walkers Brook Drive in Reading.
Keurig is a gourmet coffee company owned by Green Mountain. Paul Kelly
started the company
Sara's boss is Chris Stevens. There are approximately 200 employees who are
able to donate up to 52 hours per week of their company time to events, clean-up
projects, work projects, etc.
The Committee was asked to come up with some ideas of projects we could
suggest to offer Keurig employees.
Sara's contact information is sara.mahoney(o-),keurig.com .
Adopt-a-Trail Update - Alan will resend the Adopt-a-Trail contact letter with the
edits agreed to so each of us can send it out to the Adopters. It was suggested
that a follow up phone call would be a good idea.
