Harnden stated that the abov j- C,? res were based on their 'nest judcrment and the experience of the past zoo thss and the -hoard requested that $2200®00 be raised for Chalrities and Arid; under Article 5 of the warrant and that $7300oOO be transferred from various accounts under Article 6. Mr. George Horrocj~:s, 'Chx11.. of the Board of assessors next appeared on Article 7 and requested that `P'425.00 be transferred from Assessors' J r-pense Account to Block System Survey Account, -°e stated that this money was for an extension of the Bloc's System and also to revise some ;clans already made. The School Doj-;~jittee, Chm. Tanner, Mir. Austin and Supt. Grover appeared in the interests of Article 10 and requested a transfer of 151500.00 from School Depart_-ent `salaries Account to School Department iiaintenance Account, this money to be used principally for the purchase of typewriters and chairs. Registrar Special Account to Election and Registration Account- under Article 3 he requested -X109.10 from -hand Court 7xpen.ses to Town Coi,, sel' s Expense Account - and under Article 4 ;;200®00 from State Aid Account to Soldiers' Relief Accov He also requested the following transfers from the Reserve Fund: GP150.00 to Election & Registration :expense 100.00 to Fire Stations Maintenance Account 50.00 to "'ire Alarm Maintenance Account. i execotive session the following votes were passed: NOTED to authorize transfersfrQm the Deserve Fund of $150.00 to election and Registration Expense, X100.00 to Fire Stations Maintenance, and 50.00 to Fire Alarm Maintenance. VOTED to recommend under Article 2 the transfer of $94,25 from Registrars' Special Account to Election, and Registration Account. NOTED TO recommend under Article 3-the transfer of 009.10 from Land Court :expense Account to Torn Counsel's Expense Account. VOTED TO recommend under Article 4 the transfer of 1;200.00 from State Aid Account to Soldiers' Relief Account. The Board of R ublic Works next appeared Mr. Putnam Acting Chairman., Mr. Williamson, Lindsay and Supt. Welch. he Drainage Committee was also in attendance - Messrs. Putnam, anni, Coolidge, White, Goodridge, Laidlaw and Samuel H. Davis. They appeared on Article 9 of the Warrant relative to petitioning the general Court to changing the act passed in 1939 They explained that this amendment would be to the advantage of the Wotan and more especially if funds were obtained from the Federal Government. Supt. Welch of the Board of Public Works spore on Article 8 and stressed the necessity for additional funds in order to extend water mains in areas Where home building was going forward. Mr. Norman. P. Charles requested a transfer from the Deserve Fund of 6100.00 to the Town Clerke s Ixpense Account. The Board of Public Works re-appeared and a'i`r. Putnam requested under Article 8 that $2100.00 be recommended for main pipe extension and service pipe installation. In executive session the following votes were passed: Under Article 5 it was voted to recommend the borrowing by Tax Title Loan of a sum not exceeding 0,000-00 for Welfare and Soldiers' Relief the exact amount to be determined by the Town Accountant after further con- ference with t he Welfare Department, and that the amount determined would be the amount recommended for the purposes set forth in Article j. It was voted to recommend transfer of W O.00 from. Reserve Fond to Town Clerk's Expenses. it was voted to recommend under Article 2 that ~ 25.00 be transferred fro-1 Assessors' =expense Account to Mock 6yste Surve-~ ' It w4s voted to recommend .der Article 8 that 42.00 be transferred from Wire Ooss Special Account and ;1678.00 from eater Department Available Reserve to Water Department Maintenance and Construction Account. A letter was received from the Town: Treasurer requesting a transfer of $25.00 from Reserve Fund to Treasurer's Clerical Expense and it was voted to authorize such transfer. A letter was received from the Collector of Tares requesting Ia transfer from the Reserve Fund of "50.00 for collector's :expense Account. t was voted not to authorize the transf era hder article o it was voted to recommend the following transfers to Public Welfare General Aid Account: From A.D.C. School Department General Salaries account to School Department General Maintenance Account. It was voted under Article 9 to recommend that the Special Drainage Committee petition the General Court for legislation as set forth in this article. Adjourned: Members present: Cbm.
