'.T'he meeting was called to order by the Chairman at 8*14 P.M. The
records of the last meeting were read and approved. .
Chairman Morton of the Board of Selectmen appeared with a request from
the Board for a transfer from the Reserve Fund of 425.00, to be added to
the regular appropriation for Police Department Maintenance. He exp'la-ined,
t-aat this money was necessary to defray the cast of a proposed installation
of traffic signals at the intersection of Salem and Pearl treetso This
installation was requested and particularly desired by the 'School Cormittee
order to make it safer for the children attending the Pearl 'Street
-hool® Mrs Frank Teo Tanner, Chairman of the School Committee was present
to urge the Finance Committee to grant this reques is
request was also made for a transfer of X25,00 for unpaid bills
of 1939
executive session it was voted to authorize a transfer of 69425.00
from Reserve Fund t Police Department Maintenance Account and of X25,00
to the appropriation for unpaid bills of 19390
Chairman. Devaney announced the names of the special committee to
Study Welfare and W.P.A. Departments, authorized by vote at the Special
Town Meeting May lsty which are as follows
