Meeting of the Finance Committee !'.'larch 4, 19400 The meeting of the Finance Committee was called to order at 7-05 O'clock by the Chtirman. The records of the last meeting were read and approved. There was a general discussion of the Welfare problem and it was suggested that a "Fact-finding Committee" be appointed to investigate the entire Welfare situation. No vote was taken. To determine how much money the Town will raise and appropriate for Gen- eral Government, Protection of Persons and Property, Health and Sanitation, Board of Public Works, including Highways, Sidewalks, Drainage, Common Parks and Supervised Play, Water Department and Sewer Department, Charities and Aid, Soldiers' Benefits, Public Schools, Public Library, Cemeteries, Memo- rial Day Observance, Municipal Light Depart- ment, Street Lighting, Maturing Debt, Inter- est, Insurance and General Accounts. To see if the town will appropriate a sum sufficient to pay the County of Middle- sex as required by law on account of assess- ments levied on the town for its share of the principal of the Middlesex County Tuberculosis Hospital Funding Loan, Act of 1932 bonds maturing in 1940, issued in compliance with Chapter 10, Acts of 1932, also for any other in- debtedness incurred and outstanding under said Chapter 10, also for the town's share of the cost and interest on said bonds due in 1940, also for the care, maintenance, and repair of said Hospital for 1939 and including interest on Temporary Notes issued therefor in accordance with sections of Chapter 111 of the General haws applicable therefor, and for all other ex- penses in connection therewith, including Chap- ter 400, Section 25G (6) (a) of the Acts of 1936, determine how the money shall be raised or in any way act thereon.
