To either of the Constables of the Town of Reading, Greeting: In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, you are hereby required to notify and warn the inhabitants of the Town of Reading, qualified to vote in elec- tions and town affairs, to meet in Security Hall, Woburn Street on Monday, the Second. Day of October, A. D. 1939 at twelve o'clock noon to bring in their votes "Yes" or "No" on a special ballot in answer to the following question: "Shall an act passed by the general court in the year nineteen hundred and thirty-nine entitled `An Act providing for the drainage of the low lands adjacent to Lake Quannapowitt in the Town of Read- ing', be accepted?" The polls will be open at 12 o'clock noon and will close at 8 o'clock p. M. And you are directed to serve this warrant by posting an attested copy there- of in at least ten public places within said town not less than seven days prior to October 2, 1939, the date set for the meeting in this warrant and to cause to be pub- lished an attested copy of the same in The Reading Chronicle one day at least prior to said date. Hereof fail not and make due return of this warrant with your doings thereon to the Town Clerk at or before the time appointed for said meeting.
