To either of the Constables of the Town of Reading, Greeting:- In the name of the Commonwealth of Massa- chusetts you are hereby required to notif and warn the inhabitants of the Totvn of Reayding, vote to a meet in Secur tyelHall,n Wobu nowStreet, in said Reading on MONDAY, THE FIFTEENTH DAY OF NOVEMBER, A. D., 1937 at 7:45 o'clock in the evening, to act on the fol- lowing articles: Article 1. To hear and act on the reports of Town Officers and special committees, to choose all necessary. special committees, and determine what instructions will be given Town Officers and special committees. Article 2. To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Selectmen to sell on such terms and conditions as they may determine, any and all real estate now or hereafter acquired by the Town for taxes, wherein such title has been duly perfected as provided by law, and to sign, seal, acknowledge and deliver in the name and behalf of the Town deeds and such other instruments which may be necessary convey- ing such property to the purchasers thereof, or what it will do in relation thereto. d of l. Article No. 11 To see Boar td Pc hef Townl will ovote to accept the report of the Board of Public Works upon the laying out as a public high- way of a private way known as Sylvan Road, under the provisions of law authorizing the assessment of betterments, such highway being laid out in accordance with plan duly approved by the Board of Survey and filed in the of- fice of the Town Clerk in accordance with the statutory requirements, and to see if the Town will accept the public way laid out by the Board of Public Works as Sylvan Road, and to see what sum the Town will vote to appropriate from available funds and transfer for the construction of said way, or what it will do in relation thereto. Board of Public Works. Article No. 12. To see if the Town will vote to accept the report of the Board of Public Works upon the laying out as a pub- lie highway of a private way known as Oak Ridge Road, under the provisions of law au- thorizing the assessment of betterments, such highway being laid out in accordance with plan duly approved by the Board of Survey and filed in the office of the Town Clerk in accordance with the statutory requirements, and to see if the Town will accept the public way laid out by the Board of Public Works as Oak Ridge Road, and to see what sum the Town will vote to appropriate from avail- able funds and transfer for the construction of said way, or what it will do in relation thereto. Article No. 13 To see if the Town will vote to accept the report of the Board of Public Works upon the laying out as a public highway of a private way known as Pine Ridge Road, under the provisions of law authorizing the as- sessment of betterments, such highway being laid out in accordance with plan duly approved by the Board of Survey and filed in the office of the Town Clerk in accordance with the statutory requirements, and to see if the Town will accept the public way laid out by the Board of Public Works as Pine Ridge Road, and to see what sum the Town will vote to appropriate from available funds and trans- fer for the construction of said way, or what it will do in relation thereto. Board of Public Works. Article 14. To see if the Town will authorize and empower' the Board of Public Works to enter into an agreement with the Meadow Brook Golf Club Corporation upon such terms and conditions as they may determine, relating to the abandonment and termination of an easement taken by the Town through the Club's property for the purpose of gaining ac- cess to sand and gravel, and to further au- thorize and empower said Board of Public Works to execute in the name and behalf of the Town such agreement, or what it will do in relation thereto. And you are directed to serve this warrant by posting-an attested copy thereof in at-least ten public places in the town not less than seven days prior to November 15, 1937, the date set for the meeting in said warrant, and to cause this warrant to be published in the Reading Chronicle, one day at least prior to the said date. Hereof fail not-and make due return of this warrant with your doings thereon to the Town Clerk at or before the time appointed for said meeting. Given under our hands this fifth day of November, A. To the Citizens : The Finance Committee's recommendations are as follows : Article 3. - Recommend appropriation of $10,000.00 for W. P. A. Expenses and $10,000.00 for Aid, Board and Care, and $2,000.00 for Old Age Assistance, and that the total, $22,000.00 be borrowed under the provisions of Chapter 107 of the Acts of 1937, and that the loan shall be paid within five years. Article 4. Recommend appropriation and transfer of $200.00 from Police Department Salaries Account to Police Department Maintenance `Account. Article 5. Recommend appropriation and transfer of $75.00 from Fire Alarm New Boxes Account and $75.00 from Fire Alarm Extension Account to Fire Alarm, Maintenance Account. Article 6. Recommend appropriation and transfer of $300.00 from Aid to Dependent Children Account to Public Welfare Administrative Account. Article 7: Recommend appropriation and transfer of $3,300.00 from School Department General Salaries Account to School Department General Maintenance Account and $200.00 to School Department Industrial Tuition. Article 8. Recommend appropriation from available funds of $50.00. Article 9. Recommend appropriation and transfer of $57.23 from Chapin Avenue Account and $69.39 from County Road Account to General Highway Maintenance. Article 10. No recommendation. Article 11. Recommend appropriation and transfer of $49.00 from Chapin Avenue Account of Sylvan Road Account. Article 12. Recommend appropriation and transfer of $121.00 from Chapin Avenue Account to Oak Ridge Road Account. Article 13. Recommend appropriation and transfer of $80.00 from Chapin Avenue Account to Pine Ridge Road Account. Article 14. No recommendation. Respectfully submitted, G.
