of the meetings of February 19th and 24th. were read and declared approved.
This meeting was cal.led to discuss the warrant for the Special To~~an
Meeting to be held March 22nd. Town Counsel. Davis appeared, for Article
1 which was to provide for damage suit of Walter J. Anderson. He explained
that by reason of construction of gain Street abutting the Keeney Garage
so-called, the owner claimed damages to the amount of 1300.00. The Law
Committee voted to approve an award of ?350.00 which Mr. Anderson agreed
to accept.

Gravel. It was voted to recommend the appropriation of 0500.00 to carry

The World Var Memorial Committee, Chairman Currel.l and >>lra Sarfzuel
H. Davis appeared with ",fir. Sherburne Watts, relative to a World War Memorial
under Article 3 in the NA rrant. It was explained that the World War Bonus
Fund of 569.82 was not sufficient to carry out the plan of the Committee
to erect a suitable memorial in "Forest Glen Cemetery, It was voted to
recommend the appropriation of l,3)r8.23, the amount on hand received from
the sale of and which amount could be ppropriated under the authority
of Section 63, Chapter 44 of the General Laws.

sachusetts-you are hereby required to notify
and warn the inhabitants of the Town of
Reading, qualified to vote in elections and
town affairs, to meet in Security Hall, Woburn
Street, in said Reading on
MONDAY, THE TWENTY-SECOND DAY
OF MARCH, A. D., 1937
at 7:45 o'clock in the evening, to act on the
following articles:
Article 1. To see if the Town will vote to
authorize the Law Committee to settle the
litigation of. Walter J. Anderson against the
Town for damages to premises on the westerly
side of Main Street and to see what sum the
Town will raise and appropriate therefor, or
what it will do in relation thereto.

Article 2. To see if the Town will vote to
authorize the Law Committee to settle the liti-
gation of Mabel Corindia against the Town
now pending in the Middlesex Superior Court
and to see what sum the Town will raise and
appropriate therefor, or what it will do in re-

Article 3. To see what sum the Town will
vote to appropriate from available funds for
the erection of a permanent World War Mem.
orial, such amount to be added to and ex-
pended in accordance with the appropriation
previously voted at the Annual Town Meet-
ing held in March, 1928, or what it will do in
relation thereto.

Article 4. To see if the Town will vote to ac-
cept the report of the Board of Public Works
upon the laying out as a public highway of a
private way known as Fairmount Road, un-
der the provisions of law authorizing the as-
sessment of betterments, such highway being
laid out in accordance with plan duly ap-
proved by the Board of Survey and filed in the
office of the Town Cleric, in accordance with
the statutory requirements, and to see if the
Town will accept the public way laid out by
the Board of Public Works as Fairmount Road,
and to appropriate for the said laying out and
the construction of said way, the sum of
Nine Hundred and Eighty-five Dollars ($985.00),
or what it will do in relation thereto.

Article 5: To see if the Town will vote to
accept the report of the Board of Public
Works upon the laying out of a certain parcel
of land located in Great Island, so-called,
containing approximately 9 1-2 acres and owned
by Efford E. Taylor and Arthur W. Stone,
said land when acquired to be used for the pur-
pose of removing therefrom materials neces-
sary for the construction, repair or improve-
ment w public ways in the Town and also
upon the laying out of a certain way neces-
sary for convenient access thereto, running
North-Easterly from a private way which
runs Northerly from Grove Street, through
land of the Meadow Brook Golf Club Cor-
poration, in accordance with the provisions of
Section 38 of Chapter 82 of the General haws;
such land and way being laid out in accordance
with plan duly approved by the Board of
Public Works and filed in the office of the
Town Clerk as required by law; and to see if
the Town will accept the land and the way
so laid out by the Board of Public Works,
and to see if the Town will also vote to au-
thorize and empower the Board of Public
Works to take by right of Eminent Domain
for such purposes under Chapter 79 of the
General haws, said land of Effoid E. Taylor
and Arthur W. Stone and easement for said
way for convenient access thereto through
land of said Meadow Brook Golf Club Corpora-
tion, and to see what sum the Town will
raise and appropriate for said taking, laying
out and the construction of said way, or what
it will do in relation thereto.

And you are directed to serve this warrant
by posting an attested copy thereof in at
least ten public places in the town not less
than seven days prior to March 22, 1937, the
date set for the meeting in said warrant, and
to cause this warrant to be published in the
Reading Chronicle, one day at least prior to
the said date.
Hereof fail not and make due return of this
warrant with your doings thereon to the Town
Clerk at or before the time appointed for said
meeting.
