Ad hoc MEMORIAL PARK USE REVIEW COMMITTEE MINUTES
October 25, 2004 at Town Hall Conference Room
Attendees: Gail Wood, Board of Selectmen
Frank Driscoll, Reading Youth Softball, Recreation Committee Member
Preston Lucus, Reading Youth Baseball
Margaret O'Sullivan, Resident at Large
John Feudo, Recreation Administrator
Meeting called to order at 7:46 PM
F. Driscoll made a motion to accept the minutes of September 27. P. Lucas seconded the motion.
Motion passes in favor of accepting the minutes of September 27 by a vote of 4-0-0.
The ad hoc Committee began to discuss the master schedule for the next month of work. They
decided to have P. Lucas represent the Committee for a short presentation to the Board of
Selectmen on November 9th to update them on the progress of the Committee. J. Feudo stated that
he would email the Town Manager and see if he could get Mr. Lucas on at the beginning of the
meeting.
The committee set the following work schedule, which was reiterated by F. Driscoll:
November 9th - Preston Lucas to present to the Board of Selectmen-member should attend.
November 16th - Committee will meet to discuss the results of the questionnaire and address any
concerns brought up at the Board of Selectmen's meeting on November 9th
November 23' - Present draft report to the ad hoc Committee. If Board of Selectmen require a
preliminary report it would need to be included in their packets.
The Committee decided that they would book December 2nd as a public hearing date at the Senior
Center if available.
The Committee discussed questions submitted by each member. They devised a survey of seven
questions pertaining to Memorial Park. (see attached)
The Committee decided to distribute the survey on Election Day (if possible), Town Meeting, on
the Town Web Site, RCTV, Reading Chronicle, Reading Advocate, at the Reading Public Library
and Senior Center.

The next full meeting for the Memorial Park Use Review Committee would on November 16th at
7:30 PM.

F. Driscoll made a motion to adjourn the meeting. M. O'Sullivan seconded the motion. Motion
passes in favor of adjourning 4-0-0.
Meeting adjourned at 9:31 PM.
