Time of Meeting: 3:00 - 4:45
Location: Joshua Eaton Conference Room
Members in Attendance: Karen Feeney, Jane Merrill, Brian Snell,
Heather Tenney, Leslie Raymond
• Meeting began at 3:00 PM
• Introduction of members: Members introduced themselves around the
table
• Open Meeting Law - review of what it is and how it will be uses with
our meetings. Information packet about the Open Meeting Law was
passed out and members signed the form acknowledging that they
received the packet and an overview of the law and how it pertains to
our meetings.
• Anti- bullying policy N approved policy from the district and the plan
that will be created for the district: Information about steps being
taking at the district level to create a plan around the anti-bullying
law. Discussion around how we educate parents, how we define
bullying, what is bullying and what is'typical' childhood behavior, how
to we let children (by standers) know when it is ok to tell a grown up.
Looking towards the time when we will look at the district plan.
Reminder that the policy is approved by school committee and is
available on Edline.
• Schedule meeting for the year - a day of the week and time for the
rest of the school year: After looking at the schedule we set up a
consistent day and time for our meetings. Meetings will be held the
last Monday of the Month from 3:15 - 4:15 in the conference room at
Joshua Eaton.
• John Doherty at next meeting N question and answer session in
regards to his transition plan: Karen will email Dr. Doherty with the
date of the next meeting to invite him to attend.
• School goals for this year N Smart goals for this school year: The new
format of goals with outcomes was discussed. There was conversation

around the percentage outcomes and how we would obtain our data.
There was also conversation around the wording and reasoning behind
the school goal relating to IEP and IEP referrals. It was expressed by
Karen that these were draft goals and that changes could be made.
Ideas will be taken into consideration when the goals are revised.
• Questions: Brian Snell brought up the question around the food policy
and not having food brought in for the entire class. Karen explained
that it was for the safety of the whole child and all of the children in
the interest of keeping all children safe and healthy.
