Present were Chairman Camille Anthony, Members Tim Twomey, Stephen Crook, Jonathan Barnes, Matthew Nestor and Town Manager Peter Hechenbleilmer. On motion by Crook seconded by Barnes, the minutes of October 12, 2000 were approved by a vote of 5-0-0. The Town Manager distributed material which included the tracking of legal services expenses, and the use of legal services through the end of September, 2000. He reviewed with the Committee the reference checks for Brackett & Lucas, Keegan, Werlin & Pabian, Deutsch Williams and Kopelman & Paige. On motion by Barnes seconded by Crook, the Committee voted to send the three firms of Keegan, Werlin & Pabian; Brackett & Lucus; Deutsch Williams et al to the Board of Selectmen for their interview. These firms are unranked in order of priority. The motion was approved by a vote of 4-0-1, with Nestor abstaining. The Committee agreed that the material that will be sent to the Board of Selectmen would include the cost sheet for the three finalists (including using 1360 hours as we used last fiscal year), and copies of minutes. Each firm will be given 30 minutes, with a 15 minute presentation and 15 minutes for questions and answers. The Committee agreed that the criteria that we used for this evaluation including accessibility, who would be the lead counsel, what is covered under the cost range, experience and work in other similar communities were valid for the selection process. On motion by Crook seconded by Barnes, the Legal Services Review Committee adjourned their meeting of October 18, 2000 at 9:15 p.m. by a vote of 5-0-0. Respectfully submitted, Secretary
