HomeMy WebLinkAbout1990-02-12 Council on Aging MinutesCouncil, on Aging Board Meeting Arnold Berger Room - 16 Lowell Street February 12, 1990 Present: Virginia Bizzarro, Lois Band, Gladys Cail, Dorothy Foxon, Diane Guilfoyle, Ginny Lane, Linda Nordberg, Loretta Spaulding Absent: Mary Andreola, Frank Day Meeting was called to order at 5:41 P.M. by Chairperson Gladys Cail in the Arnold Berger Room, 16 Lowell Street. Minutes of the January meeting were accepted on a motion by Dorothy Foxon and seconded by Ginny Lane. 7-0-0 Financial Report The grants are in goad shape. Shopping Assistance grant will be audited by Mystic Valley in March. It was moved by Diane Guil- foyle and seconded by Loretta Spaulding that this report be ac- cepted. 7-0-0 Director's Report The statistical report was handed out. It was moved by Ginny Lane and seconded by Linda Nordberg that the Director's Report be accepted. 7-0-0 Old Business Ginny Lane received a packet from Russel Thatcher, State Transportation Planner, regarding van specifications. March 2 is bid deadline. Ginny expects she will have the details to report at the March 12 Council on Aging meeting. Ginny Lane, Diane Guilfoyle, Dorothy Foxon, Linda Nordberg and Virginia Bizzarro will meet February 27 in the Arnold Berger Conference Room to go over list of people to get van letter. 1 New Business Gladys Cail will check with Frank Day regarding attending next Council on Aging meeting as he has not attended last two. Budget Update - Summary sheets of Budget FYo91 were handed out as well as put back sheet - in the event add backs become available. Intern Program with a senior high school student is just getting underway. Stabilization Program from EOEA - Lois will see if we can get financial assistance for Shopping Assistance program. HARP 55 Alive - driving course to be held at the Senior Center on March 1 and 8 from 10:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M.. Garden Club 4 Flower arranging class will be held at the Senior Center on March 21 and 28. There will be a Volunteerst reception on May 1. Mammography van from Mobile Diagnostics of Wellesley will be in Reading on April 20. Meeting was adjourned at 7:06 P.M. which was moved by Linda Nordberg and seconded by Virginia Bizzarro.
