Present: Mary Andreola, Virginia Bizzarro, Lois Bond, Gladys
Cail, Leonard Dergay, Dorothy Foxon, Diane Guilfoyle,
Ginny Lane, Eva Hakanson, Linda Nordberg, Loretta
Spaulding, George Richards - Patrons for Older Adults
Absent: None
Meeting was called to order at 6:40P.M. by Chairperson Ginny Lane
in the Arnold Berger Room, 16 Lowell Street.
Minutes of the June meeting were accepted on a motion by Vir-
ginia Bizzarro and seconded by Gladys Cail. 7-0-0
Financial Report
The appropriations sheets were reviewed.
Board Members received a list of potential cuts to be proposed at
special Town Meeting this September - cuts directly affecting
Elder Services were found on Tier 1.
Director's Report
It was moved by Virginia Bizzarro and seconded by Gladys Cail
that the Director's Report for August be accepted. 9-0-0.
The EOEA Formula Grant went from $2.07/senior to $1.70/senior.
Due to an increase in Reading's senior population over the past
decade, the decrease in dollar amount has been offset.
old Business
Fire Station Grant will be completed for submission by this
Friday (9-13-91). Grant period begins November 1 so it will be
awhile before we learn of decision.
Draft of By Law changes will be submitted to members at the next
Council on Aging meeting.

New Business
$100 from Reading Art Council will be used to cover the first two
tea dances this year, thereafter, these dances will possibly have
to become self sufficient.
Goals for Elder Services on priority list submitted by Town
Manager are:
- Fire Station Grant
- Services that we supply in order of priority and how we can
more efficiently deliver these services
Resignation, as a member of the Board, was tendered by Diane
Guilfoyle as she has moved to Woburn.
Oil Painting classes will start the last week in September.
Ceramics will commence second week in October.
It was suggested that a profile be filled out by each senior that
goes to Senior Center on a regular basis. The Profile will give
information on these individuals to involve them in other
projects, etc.
Meeting was adjourned at 7:30 PM which was moved by Linda
Nordberg and seconded by Gladys Cail.
