This special meeting of the Council was called to discuss the Senior Center grant and the requirements of the Council on Aging. Irving Stackpole has accepted assignment as the Council represen- tative to the Ad Hoc Senior Center Advisory Committee. Pages from the grant were distributed which discussed the program at the Center, the design of the building and the impact on program as a result of the new building. A draft copy of DPW°s "critical path" was shared with the Council. The timetable was discussed and concern expressed that we are already "behind." The criteria for the performance bonus was reviewed: 65% of the work contracted by June 1, 1992 will yield approximately $100,000.00 extra funds. There is a need for old photographs of the Fire Station par- ticularly from the Pleasant Street side. Dot Hoyt, Henry Murphy, and Eleanor Bishop were suggested sources. Questions as yet unanswered: - grant ramifications of renting the building - liability for renting to groups - smoke free environment and effect on insurance - can food and people pass through the same door Linda Nordberg will check with Rykoff Sexton (kitchen supplier) representative for willingness to share ideas. The Ad Hoc Senior Center Advisory Committee (Advisory Committee) is seen as encouraging the efforts of the Town Hall as contrac- tor. It will be important to have members experienced in fields that will support the fast pace of the Committee. The meeting was adjourned at 8:05 p.m. which was moved by Gladys Cail and seconded by Virginia Bizzarro. 7-0-0 Respectfully submitted: Lois K. nd Director, Elder Services
