HomeMy WebLinkAbout1993-04-12 Council on Aging MinutesCOUNCIL ON AGING APRIL 12, 1993 BERGER CONFERENCE ROOM 16 LOWELL STREET READING, MA 01867 Present:, Mary Andreola, Gladys Cail, Dot Foxon, Ginny Lane, Eva Hakanson, Linda Nordberg, Irving Stackpole, Loretta Spaulding, Lois Bond Absent: Sal Mele The meeting was called to order at 6:35 p.m. by Chairperson Ir- ving Stackpole in the Berger Conference Room. Minutes of the March 8, 1993, meeting were accepted on a motion by Eva Hakanson and seconded by Mary Andreola. 7-0-0 Linda Nordberg arrived. The Financial Report was accepted on a motion by Ginny Lane and seconded by Eva Hakanson. 8-0-0 The Director's Report was accepted on a motion by Dot Foxon and seconded by Mary Andreola. 8-0-0. Linda Nordberg raised the question of salary equity for the staff. Dot Foxon believes that these well founded concerns about pay scale and job expectations should be addressed through con- tacts with MCOA and EOEA. Hearty thanks and warm appreciation were expressed to Linda Nordberg and Nils for their catering contributions which made the Open House and the celebration for the Senior Center com- mittees such wonderful events. The work of the B.O.S.C. (Beautify Our Senior Center) was reviewed and the utilization of the "Adopt-a-Bush" plan similar to the Town's "Adopt-an-Island" program. Lee Roberts is proceeding with plans for the Volunteer Reception on May 13. The following agenda is suggested for the May meeting: MVES: Doris Fantasia Patrons Fund raising Liaison reports Nominating committee The meeting was adjourned at 7:22 p.m. which was moved by Gladys Cail and seconded by Mary Andreola. 8-0-0 Respectfully submitted, Lois K.
