HomeMy WebLinkAbout1993-12-13 Council on Aging MinutesCOUNCIL ON AGING December 13, 1993 Arnold Berger Conference Room 16 Lowell Street Reading, NL4, 01867 Present: Gladys Cail, Dorothy Foxon, Ginny Lane, Sal Mele, Mary Mundjer, Linda Nordberg, Sandra Trainor, Lois Bond Absent: Mary Andreola and Eva Hakanson excused, Len Dergay The meeting was called to order at 6:36 p.m. by Chairperson Ginny Lane. Minutes of the Oct. 18, 1993 meeting were accepted as amended on a motion by Linda Nordberg and seconded by Gladys Cail. 7-0-0. Minutes of the Nov. 18, 1993 meeting were accepted as amended on a motion by Linda Nordberg and seconded by Dot Foxon. 7-0-0 The Financial Report was accepted on a motion by Dot Foxon and seconded by Gladys Cai1.7-0-0 The Director's Report was accepted on a motion by Gladys Cail and seconded by Mary Mundjer 7-0-0 Liaison assignments were made. See attachment. Trainor and Mele agreed to explore quarterly dances. Mundjer will report to office events that need acknowledgment by the star Cards will be kept at Center for use by Mundjer and participants. Bond reported conversation with Frank Kyle's interest in making documentary film based on senior citizens observations of Reading history. This idea will develop in time for 350'th celebration. It is being reported that the meal quality has improved at the Center and participants are happy. A discussion of a survey that will cover needs assessment and address the Selectmen's request for information about the main floor toilet question produced the following motion: Moved by Sal Mele and seconded by Mary Mundjer that the survey be mailed to all seniors age 65 and over, and that a return business reply envelope be included with the survey to certify that the proper form is being returned. Boards members decided to hold the January meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 12, 1994 at 6:30 p.m. Respectfully submitted, Lois K. Bond
