HomeMy WebLinkAbout1994-04-11 Council on Aging MinutesCOUNCIL ON AGING APRIL 11, 1994 TOWN HALL BERGER CONFERENCE ROOM 16 LOWELL STREET READING, MA 01867-2684 Present: Cail, Dergay, Foxon, Hakanson, Lane, Mele, Mundjer, Nordberg, Trainor, Bond The meeting was called to order at 6:32 p.m. by Chairperson Ginny Lane. Minutes of the March 14, 1994, meeting were moved by Linda Nordberg and seconded by Gladys Cail. 9-0-0 The Financial report was moved by Eva Hakanson and seconded by Gladys Cail. 9-0-0 The Shopping Assistance program was reviewed as part of the Director's report. Patio benches are being built by DPW and will be installed this Spring. Trainor and Mele gave their dance report. Conversations with people at the Center were positive and some past dance committee members will provide resources. 350th events were reviewed. The van will be in the parade and a plan will be developed to determine who rides in the van. A lottery was suggested with current Board members given priority. Bond will check with the Chamber of Commerce regarding bunting for the building. The lecture series was outlined. 911 workshop on April 25 was discussed with the possibilities of doing "road shows" to educate the people about the 911 system Meeting adjourned at 7:25p.m., moved by Eva Hakanson and seconded by Sal Mele. 9-0-0.
