The meeting was called to order at 6:35 p.m. by Chairperson Ginny Lane.
Minutes of the April 11, 1994, meeting were moved as amended by Gladys Cail and seconded by
Sal Mele. 10-0-0
Director's report was received. Discussion was on the computer network at the public library.
The survey was discussed. Collection boxes were suggested for the housing complexes, center
and Town Hall. The Board of Selectmen will do the final review of the form at their May I Oth
meeting. Forms will be printed and volunteers will assemble the mailing.
The Council received information about the Pay and Classification study. The positions of the
Director, Outreach Worker and Meals on Wheels Coordinator will be reviewed again by the
Selectmen and Town Manager.
350th celebration plans were reviewed regarding the daytime lecture events held at the Center,
Killam School and the Library. The strawberry festival was discussed: 350 or Summerfest.
Mary Mundjer will represent the COA on the van during the 350th parade. A lottery will be held
to determine van riders. Folks will need their own transportation to and from the parade route.
May 19, the Massachusetts Historical Commission will present an historic preservation award to
the Town of Reading for the restoration of the Senior Center. Board members are invited to
attend.
