The strawberry shortcake festival at Summerfest was reviewed.
There was considerable discussion about the Fall class schedule. The members discussed if and
how scholarships could be offered. An idea to be explored is requesting instructors to enable one
student to attend class gratis. An overview of class costs will be presented at the September
meeting.
The Senior Center survey was reviewed. 2134 surveys were mailed with a 14% return. Points
discussed included: many people not coming to the Center because they are "too busy" or still
working; 91% of the people who responded to the question did not have a problem with the
location of the bathrooms; one person summed up other comments by stating: "Parking is
probably the major weakness"; many people wanted information but neglected to give their name
or phone number.
Sandra Trainor moved and Sal Mele seconded a motion that the report to the Board of Selectmen
reflect data collected up until August 8, 1994, the time of the Selectmen's meeting. 6-1-1
