Present:
Mary Andreola, Gladys Cail, Dottye Foxon, Mary Mundjer, Naaz Page, Gay Williams,

The meeting was called to order at 6:35 p.m. by Chairperson Gladys Cail.
Minutes of the May 13, 1996 meeting were accepted on a motion by Mary Mundjer and seconded
by Naaz Page. 6-0-0
Financial report was moved by Dottye Foxon and seconded by Mary Andreola. 6-0-0
Director's Report was moved by Dottye Foxon and seconded by Mary Andreola. 6-0-0
Mary Andreola reported on her presentation of the COA certificate to the Barrows School fifth
grade students who participated in the It's Good to Care program. She was impressed with the
caliber of kids and their activities.
Plans were made for the Summerfest strawberry shortcake festival on Thursday evening, June 27.
Volunteers are needed to help with the berry preparation. Mary Andreola will help coordinate.
The meeting focused on the senior citizen property tax work off program with review of the
brochure and materials as written to date. Information continues to be collected about the
employment status of the participants, whether they are contract laborers or town employees.
Resources have been the Department of Revenue and the IRS. Members are interested in the
work suggestions generated by the various departments. The ratio of property tax to gross
income was discussed with a suggestion that the tax bill be at least 10% of gross income.
The members unanimously voted to not meet in July nor August.
The meeting adjourned at 8:30 on a motion by Gay Williams and seconded by Dottye Foxon.
