HomeMy WebLinkAbout1996-11-04 Council on Aging MinutesCOUNCIL ON AGING November 4, 1996 Berger Room Town Hall 16 Lowell Street Reading, MA 01867-2684 Present: Mary Andreola, Gladys Cail, Betty Cronin, Dottye Foxon, Mary Mundjer, Ellen O'Hara, Gay Williams, Joanne Wooldridge, Lois Bond Excused: Naaz Page The meeting was called to order at 6:40 p.m. by Chairperson Mary Andreola. Minutes of the October 7, 1996 meeting were accepted on a motion by Gay Williams and seconded by Dottye Foxon. 8-0-0 Financial report was reviewed and accepted on a motion by Joanne Wooldridge and seconded by Dottye Foxon, 8-0-0 Directors report was reviewed and accepted on a motion by Betty Cronin and seconded by Gladys Cail. 8-0-0 The Meals on Wheels program was discussed at length. MVES is now requiring the meal site manager to deposit the money collected each day. The Penny Program across the region has collected significant amounts of money to keep the home delivered program going. Mary Andreola talked about the advocacy done through Reading COA (primary leader was Mary) for the special clinical meals. Mary Mundjer, member of the MVES Nutrition Council from Reading, will locate someone to discuss the program and in particular to address how client payments are credited to each community. Lois Bond talked about the different clinical diets being served through the Reading program. Police Ham and Bean supper will be Nov. 26. SPICE Committee will do a safety presentation after the meal. Mary Andreola and Dottye and Mark Foxon will be Thanksgiving and Christmas baggers and deliverers. Meeting adjourned at 8:10 p.m. Respectfully submitted, Z"S h;,-01 Lois K. Bond
