May 6, 1998 Meeting # 5
The meeting was convened at 7:10 PM In the Employees Lounge at Town Hall.
In attendance: Anna Carroll Foulds, Karen Sawyer, Alan Smith, Steve Crook, Alan Foulds, Mary
Williams
Business
1. The minutes of the March 1 st, 1998 meeting were approved, on a motion by Mary Williams, and a
second by Alan Smith.
2. Mary reported that she obtained the prices of T-shirts from Reading Trophy as follows:
$5.75 - Youth T-shirts
$5.95 - Adult T-shirts
$9.75 - Youth sweatshirts
$9.95 - Adult sweatshirts
$14.75 - Youth hooded sweatshirts
$14.95 - Adult hooded sweatshirts
Reading trophy and Shirt requests 100 pieces per order. If we pay within 15 to 20 days, there is no down
payment. There will be no shipping, and no set-up costs. The prices are for 4 color processing.
Mary and her husband have offered to put up the money for the first shipment, with payment back to them
in January of 1999.
On a motion by Alan Foulds and a second by Karen Sawyer it was voted 6 - 0 to order 100 pieces,
distributed at Mary's discretion. Prices were set at $10 for T-shirts, $15 for sweatshirts, and $20 for
hooded sweatshirts. Non profit town organizations will be allowed to sell them, receiving a dollar for each
sale.
3. Discussion took place concerning several possible events. Mary and Ace reported that there is interest
with both the Jr. Women's Club and the reading Cultural Council to take charge of the Ball.
A bonfire was mentioned as a possible event.
Mary reported that we will not have an official date for the "2k for 2k" event until August.
4. Alan Foulds led discussion on our participation in Summerfest. We will sell T-shirts and
sweatshirts at a booth. Alan will see to it that we are mentioned in any publicity concerning the event.
5. A short budget discussion took place, led by Steve. It was agreed that Steve, Ace, and Alan
Foulds will meet separately to go into more detail.
6. Karen reported that the first draft of the web page will be up on her site for our review within 2
weeks.
7. Ace reported that Dick Stosez has already made contact with the Light Department concerning the
Industrial Expo.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:13 PM. to June 3, 1998 (this was later changed to June 4).
