Chairman O'Brien called the meeting to order at 7:30 P.M. in
Room 131, Reading Memorial High School with Mr. George Hines
and Ms. Gayliss Paynter in attendance. The Town Planner, Mr.
Robert W. Mayerson was also present.
Article 20 - Wetlands Protection District - Main, Pearl and
Franklin Streets.
The members reviewed and revised a draft report. On a motion
duly made and seconded it was unanimously voted to accept the
revised report as a recommendation of the Board.
Article 17 - Mandatory Referral
-Al After some discussion of the general lack of understanding of
what the Board was attempting to achieve, it was unanimously
decided to move for indefinite postponement of this Article.
Article 21 - Zoning-Summit Towers Drive
Mr. Mayerson reported on his conversation with Town Counsel
relative to the possible legal ramifications of adoption of the
proposal on the southerly, Wakefield access to the Summit Towers
development. It was Town Counsel's opinion that the Town of
Wakefield had already obtained a positive decision from the
Courts and was free to close or not close the southerly access
as they saw fit, although they were under some practical con-
straints. Any action on the subject Article by the Town of
Reading would not have any effect on Wakefield's rights in
this context.
The members then reviewed a draft report recommending the
Article and on a motion duly made and seconded, voted unanimously
to adopt the report as submitted.
Corres2ondence
A letter from the Town Clerk notifying the Board of Mr. Hines's
resignation and forwarding names of applicants for the position
was read and placed on file..
There being no other business before the Board the Chairman
declared the meeting adjourned at 8:04 P.M.
Respectfully submitted,
s
G. Paynter
