Those present were Doug Cowell, Joe Santangelo, Cheri Hart, Douglas Cowell Visitor present: Karen Hayden, RCTV A. ,Old Business: 1. Minutes of the October 17, 2000 meeting were approved as written. 2. RCTV Stereo Transmissions: RCTV is preparing a new letter to AT&T reiterating their position that AT&T is required in the contract to provide stereo retransmission of RCTV stereo signals. RCTV has recorded Reading events in stereo and attempted to transmit them in stereo to AT&T's equipment, but the recordings were retransmitted by AT&T in monaural sound. Committee awaits AT&T response. B. New Business 1. Handling of service complaint correspondence: Advisory Committee will compose a standard letter to AT&T for all complaints received and will request that AT&T copy the Advisory Committee on any correspondence to Reading customers who are complaining about service. 2. RCTV question re: digital compression: RCTV will be inquiring with AT&T as to whether AT&T is using digital compression on their channel line-up, as RCTV has plans that could be impacted by this. RCTV will report any response from AT&T. 3. RCTV funding formula: RCTV is requesting a copy of AT&T most recent financial report as RCTV has some questions re: Section 6.4 of the contract. 4. Intranet issues for RCTV: An 18-year old Intranet is used for live meeting distribution in the town of Reading. AT&T has been maintaining it but it breaks down frequently. RCTV is requesting a record of problem reports for AT&T. Next meeting: The next meeting of the CATV Advisory Committee will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2001 at 7:30 PM. (Meeting was later changed to Thursday, January 25, 2001 due to scheduling conflicts.) The meeting was adjourned at 8:50 PM. top
