April 12, 2001 2001 MAY 25 A 9* 4b The meeting was opened by Doug Cowell at 7:10 PM Those present were: Doug Cowell (Chair), Cheri Hart, Joe Santangelo Visitors present: Phil Rushworth, RCTV A. Old Business: 1. Minutes of the February 22, 2001 meeting were approved as written. 2. RCTV Stereo Transmissions: Chair Doug Cowell spoke to Richard Cohen, Chair of RCTV Board about the stereo transmission matter. Advisory Committee agreed unanimously that a follow up letter be sent by RCTV to AT&T and copied to the Advisory Committee. 3. Reading Access TV funding formula: Committee suggested that RCTV confirm local towns' funding formulas and bring them to Advisory Committee for review. 4, Intranet issues for RCTV: Karen Hayden wrote a letter to William Fyfe at AT&T on December 5, 2000. Committee expects due diligence on AT&T's part in identifying the source of the malfunction of the residential feed used when recording and transmitting Reading Town Meeting and other events. According to Phil Rushworth, AT&T dropped off, 1000 ft. of coaxial cable and told RCTV to install it themselves. To date, they have not supplied diagnostics to identify and correct the malfunction. B. New Business 1. AT&T notification of new address. Noted and no action by Committee required. 2. March 20 complaint letter from Mark Zarrow: Noted and no action by Committee required. 3. Peter Hechenbleikner memo re: Warrant Articles: Noted and no action by Committee required. 4. 2000 Annual Notice from AT&T: Notice of sample work order, subscriber bill, rate and channel line- up, and important customer information care: Noted and no action by Committee required. 5. Dept. of Telecommunications & Energy, Cable TV Div. Order adopting revised annual financial and statistical data forms: Noted and no action by Committee required. 6. Third Channel Activation: Discussed the e-mail from Robert Travers, AT&T, re: Access Channel, stating that there are no current plans to move our access channel and stating his understanding of the requirements to activate a third access channel. Phil Rushworth reported to the Committee that RCTV has provided 70 hours of new programming and needs to inform the Board of Selectmen that the BOS must make a formal request to AT&T to activate the third channel. RCTV will send a letter to the CATV Advisory Committee requesting support to send this request to the Board of Selectmen. Motion to support the request carried unanimously 3-0. Next meeting: The next meeting of the Reading CATV Advisory Committee will be held on Thursday, May 17, 2001 at the Town Hall. The meeting was adjourned at 8:29 PM. ;z 1/ 1117 j N4,"4-
