Miii~ tes of the Meeting of the Reading Cable Television Advisory Committee CAC g February 28, 2002 ~hIe meeting was opened y Doug Cowell at 7:15 PM CAC members present were: Doug Cowell (Chair), Cheri Hart, Joe Santangelo Visitors present: Rob Travers (AT&T Broadband, Manager of Government Affairs) A. Old Business: 1. Minutes of the January 17, 2001 meeting were approved unanimously as written. 2. Rob Travers (AT&T Broadband) spoke on the following: a. Timetable for installing the stereo transmission equipment for RCTV AT&T needs to clarify with RCTV (A, Brough) that RCTV's output is already in stereo. b. Troubleshooting and fixing the I-loop Rob has submitted a request to AT&T engineer, Skip, to put in a drop but he needs to talk with Amy Brough before proceeding. c. Third access channel for RCTV Rob said it is AT&T position that Sec. VI-10 of the contract says the access corporation is responsible for providing the modulators. Once they are installed, AT&T can activate Channel 10 for RCTV. d. Using RMLD fiber to reduce downtime and maintenance costs This was a suggestion made at the last meeting. Rob reported there was not a lot of interest by AT&T unless RMLD is interested in letting them use their fiber. B. New Business 1. Transfer of ownership and license from AT&T to COMCAST Rob reported to the Committee that Transfer Form 391 for the COMCAST merger should arrive this week at Town Hall. Chair and committee stated for the record that customer service has not improved under AT&T and that they hoped for better service after the merger. Next meeting: The next meeting of the Reading CATV Advisory Committee will be held on Thursday April 11, 2002 in the Selectmen's Room at Reading Town Hall. The meeting was adjourned at 7:50 PM.
