The meeting was called to order by George Hines at 7:35 p.m. A discussion took place on proposals and schedules. A handout was prepared by Grubb & Ellis and distributed to those in attendance. The handout showed a list of those who had received the bid package, as well as comments from Grubb & Ellis on the possibility of submitting a bid. Jim Laurila from Camp Dresser 8v McKee noted the comprehensive site report was due on 1/ 1/99. Samples are scheduled for October for this report. These will be prepared for submittal to the state. A groundwater report indicated similar conditions to those taken when the Homart development was being considered (1990). Iron and manganese levels were similar to that period. Methane readings were fine and consistent with what had been found in the past. The final closure design is to be done by 7/1/99. Capping will be complete 11/30/00. On the 10-year gas well: Jim Laurila expected drop due to 30 feet of waste - good for landfill - the leaching process has continued. Zero readings next to "car" wells were an unexpected pleasant surprise. A preliminary review of the criteria for evaluations was discussed. Selectman Hines indicated the committee would like to see the criteria simplified. It was agreed a revised summary sheet would be prepared and distributed to the Committee for review. Peter Hechenbleikner mentioned he was continuing to follow through with our state legislators regarding the special act to abandon easement. Selectman Hines made a motion to adjourn at 8:30 p.m.. Flammia second. Unanimous vote.
