HomeMy WebLinkAbout1995-07-19 Water and Sewer Advisory Committee MinutesWATER & SEWER ADVISORY COMMITTEE MINUTES July 19, 1995 A meeting of the Water & Sewer Advisory Committee was held at 8:04 P.M. on Wednesday, July 19, 1995 in the Conference Room, Reading Town Hall, 16 Lowell St., Reading, MA. In attendance were Chairman Gail Wood, Committee member Richard Moore, and Public Works Director Ted McIntire. Approval of Minutes Richard Moore moved, Gail Wood seconded and the Committee ap- proved the minutes of June 26, 1995 by a vote of 2-0. Water Restrictions Ted McIntire indicated that there were 24 warnings given out in a five hour period on the previous Saturday. Compliance with the Water Restrictions has been favorable. Production Well Pump Test A twenty-eight day pump test began on July 17, 1995. Prior to the beginning of this test there were seven monitoring wells in- stalled between the spill site and the Town' s' production wells. Water elevations and water quality testing was done prior to the pump test and will be continued during the twenty eight day period and beyond. Weston & Sampson Engineers will be making a presentation to the Board of Selectmen at their meeting on August 1, 1995. Tiered Water Rates Gail Wood prepared a draft questionnaire to be used when contact- ing other communities. Ted McIntire will prepare a final form based on the recommendations of the Committee and review it with Richard Moore: Richard and DPW staff will contact communities and the Committee will review the results of the questionnaire at their next scheduled meeting. Zone II Delineation DEP has approved an analytical model for the Zone II delineation for the Town of Reading after reviewing the information prepared by the D.L. Maher Company of North Reading. DPW staff will prepare a request for proposals for the project. It was moved, seconded and voted 2-0 to adjourn the meeting at 9:50 P.M.
