In the absence of Mr. Keller, Mrs Paynter was designated secretary protem. Minutes of the meeting of April 3, 1978 were read and approved. Correspondence Mail reviewed. Annual Town Meeting Article 2 - Planning Board report previewed and approved. Article 43 - Mrs. Carey, sponsor of street reconstructions hear- ing article, presented background and up-date on article, wording and intention. Citizen input at beginning of process of widening or reloc- ating streets by DPW is their main concern. Redraft of the Article will be forthcoming for reconsideration. Item tabled to next meeting. Article 9 - Clerical position for Planning Board discussed and tabled until full board present. Article 12 - Appropriations recommended by Fin Com, including $21,500 for salaries and $2,55.0.00 for expenses discussed. Salaries are to be renegotiated when town union negotiations are settled. No objection - subject tabled. Article 20 - New Library general positive position re: central location approved. Article 21 - Letter to selectmen. authorized asking how they arrived at figures for Municipal Bldg. and Old Library renovation with incomplete space study and no contracted architect involved. Article_32 - Report from BPW on Solid Waste proposal reviewed by J. Sturm, showing cost esculation per ton of present system is now prohibitive. Proposed contract for outside disposal at lower figure offered is better alternative. Article 40 -,Lynn Stasz updated the Board.on land purchase negot- iations. Conservation Land acquisition tabled until cost figures supplied. Article 42 -.Tabled until after hearing. Bob will submit back- ground data and his views prior to hearing. Board of Appeals will also be notified of hearing. Urban Redevelo2ment Corp. - Statutory Provisions reviewed.. Hearing on Cedar Glen scheduled for April 18th. Population Report draft discussed as was its use and values. Meeting adjourned. . l
