We don't have to file at this point. It was voted to accept the Financial Report. J Reading's 350th, Inc. Annual Meeting March 19, 1991 VI. OLD BUSINESS A. Post Cards (Ed Palmer) ' Ed has been keeping the distribution channels for the post card sets supplied and collecting funds from them. We do not know whether the Reading Post Master has received approval to sell our sets in the post office. Ed left 25 sets with the Post Master. Paul and Ed both have inventory stored at their homes. The display of post cards in the post office has drawn much attention. B. Tee Shirts (Paul Sweeney) Eugene's has been selling a lot of the Tee Shirts. Reading Trophy is not selling them as quickly. Children's sizes are not selling now. When it warms up, perhaps the small sizes will sell. We won't reorder until we get closer to the season.- C. Windows in MassBank Storage Building (Ed Palmer) There are six windows we can use. Ed proposed that we make a display of all three sets of the post cards, as well as tee shirts. It-was voted to allow Ed to purchase materials (six foam-core boards and lettering) not to exceed $42 to create this display. Shirley will provide Ed with our non-profit tax number. D. '.'It HaDnened On Haven Street" Booklet (Ed Palmer) The Graphics Shop is in the process of reprinting the 500 booklets because the text is not centered on the page. The first 100 will be sold thru M.F.Charles. We will also be selling them at the July 4th Haven Street Tour. Maybe the library would sell them. VII. NEW BUSINESS A. Readings Of The World (Ed Palmer) Ed Palmer suggested sending "It Happened On Haven Street" and the third post card set to 10 of the other Readings. He would hope they might respond with information on their towns and might be more likely to come to our celebration in 1994. It was the feeling of other members of the corporation that ONLY the post cards should be sent. B. Hats (Paul Sweeney) Ron Marfione of Marf-O-Gram has given us a ballpark quote of $350 for a computer tape (less his $150 donation). The cost per hat would be $7.50 in a lot of 500 hats. We would have to sell them.for $12-$13. There is a 7-8 week lead time. Reading's 350th, Inc. Annual Meeting March 19, 1991 Once the tape is created he can use`it for anything: sweaters, etc. A white hat with purple stitching is the one he feels would sell. This would tie up about a $3,900 investment. C. Reading Summerfest This is the former Reading Community Carnival. This will be addressed during the Steering Committee meeting. D. Arts Lotter- Grants (Susan Theophanis) ' Maria Ferrari is familiar with how to custom tailor applications for available grants and would be willing to help us apply for such grants if and when we want to do this. VIII. NEXT MEETING The next meeting of Reading's 350th, Inc. will be Tuesday, April 30, 1991. Place: TBA. VII. ADJOURNMENT Paul Sweeney adjourned temporarily at 7:58 PM. (Paul and Ed will get this to Alan), as well as a current list of all of the donors (Shirley will get this to Alan.). The ideas Alan has put into, the newsletter are a feature story can the research Alan has undertaken which unearthed the official dates of Reading's beginnings, an article about tentative plans for our celebration, a list of donors and people who have supported us in other ways, a list of what we have for sale and where, a pitch for volunteers and an explanation of the logo. We will aim at two newsletters a year. We should mail this to donors, have them available around town and also at the Summer Pest (formerly Reading Community Carnival) in July. Alan has been getting estimates from Print. Shack: and from The Graphics Shop. Another option is printing this at Paul Sweeney's office. The quality from Paul's office will not be as sharp as it would be from the professional printers. The feeling of the. Steering Committee was that we should produce a finished product that is clears and neat. Paul will run a sample at his office and see what it looks like. If it is acceptable, we will run it that way. If it is not up to standard, we will go with one of the printers. 2.
