action was withheld until the next meeting as this meeting had
not been posted in accordance with the open meeting law.
III. COMMUNICATIONS
No communications had been received.
IV. OTHER BUSINESS
A. Sub-Committee Reports
The Book Committee plans to fund publication of the volume
through loans from the Antiquarian Society ($8500) and from Norma
and Donald Cripps ($12,500). Everett Blodgett will manage book
sales and a separate bank account will be set up for this pur-
pose. A letter to the Board of Selectmen requesting permission
to use the Town Seal will be drafted. A thank you letter should
be sent to Yankee Systems for donating the brochure on the book.
Marketing for the book is needed, but plans so far include having
a table at Town Meeting in May and also at the Reading Symphony
Pops Concert. (Everett Blodgett left at this time.)
Mary Williams reported on Publicity activities. She reminded the
- Committee members not to overlook any churches or organizations
where they could personally promote 350th activities.

Concern over completion dates of the traffic modification to main
and Washington Streets was expressed. It is unclear how this
modification would impact the parade.
Another volunteer to work on Jubileve was recruited at the Mug
and Muffin. Joan Previte of Creative Arts for Kids has
generously provided prototype buttons similar to "First Night"
admission buttons. These sample buttons will be used in promo-
tion of Jubileve.
The Ball Committee will meet and review various places to hold
the dance. The Library has been suggested as a possible loca-
tion, and this will be investigated by the Ball Committee.
Budgets and plans are needed for the various subcommittees so
that these groups will know how much money can be expended on
each event.
A "Make Your Own Sundae" event to be held on the Common in June
was discussed. Mary Williams will investigate further and bring
more details to the next meeting.
B. Fund Raisina
Shirley Buzderewicz will represent the 350th at the Chamber of
Commerce Board of Directors meeting.
It was decided that a work meeting should be held on May 11,
1993. The fund raising letter will be "stuffed" in envelopes at
that meeting and personal notes will be added where applicable.
V. NEXT MEETING - May 18, 1993 Tuesday, 7:30 P.M.
VI. ADJOURNMENT - Alan Foulds adjourned the meeting at 9:25 p.m.
