JUNE 27, 1991
Those present: John Flynn, Paul Kelley, Adrienne McMahon, Sally Nitzsche, Peg
Plansky, Ronald Wood, Mollie Ziegler and Joanne Graves, Head of Manchester and
Nahant Housing Authorities.
Peg Plansky's term is up July 1 and she will not serve another term. She will
be available to answer any questions that we have.
Joanne Graves --spoke to the committee on many aspects of local housing
partnerships. We received such valued information from her. The funding of
Housing Partnership programs is in peril with the financial situation of the
state government. What funds there are will be mainly private funds.
MHFA has buckets of dollars and the new Interstate Banking Bill will make
dollars available to the state. It will mandate a guarantee of loans to 1st
time home buyers. We might find a local bank under the guns of the federal
regulators.
In Manchester an affordable needs plan was done. Age was looked into. The
town has a plan of 5 affordable units a year. They haven't met their goal
yet.
We need to look at the Lincoln Woods Development. It might help us in our
deliberations.
This committee is suppose to have 13 members. With Peg's resignation we are
down to 10 members. We need to recruit a banker and a developer to compliment
our committee's expertise.
The meeting was adjourned as there was no longer a quorum. The next meeting
will be Aug. 22.
Respectfully submitted,
Mollie Ziegler
