HomeMy WebLinkAbout1994-01-13 Board of Health MinutesMinutes The Board of Health meeting came to order January 13, 1994 in the Berger Room of Town meeting were members Cathy Baranofsky, Bill staff Ruth Cogan and guest Victoria Dolben. r 5:25 pm, ThUrsday, Hall. Present-at-the Murphy, Jim Nugent, The minutes of the meeting of December 9, 1993 were approved 3:0:0 as approved. A Public Hearing was held regarding Section 13 of the Board of Health Rules and Regulations Massage Therapy; Bodywork; Movement Education. Comments were given by Victoria Dolben. There was discussion concerning whether the Board wanted to allow prac- titioners from other towns who did not have a Reading business to practice off-site only in Reading. The consensus was to start with Reading businesses only. The hearing was closed at 5:45 pm. Motion made by Nugent, seconded by Murphy to accept the revisions to Section 13 and 22 (fee schedule). Motion passed 3:0:0. The Board discussed the proposed policy concerning classification of food service establishments to high and low risk with inspec- tion schedules according to classification. The Board was com- fortable with the proposed policy; it will be sent to all licensees for comment. Action will be taken at the next meeting. Baranofsky discussed her meeting with the Town Manager concerning AIDS education activities. Cogan gave an overview of current ac- tivities. After discussion, it was decided to keep the focus this year on radon and tobacco issues. Cogan reviewed a current trash issue at the Schoolhouse Con- dominiums noting that the Board may be asked for a formal opinion. She also noted a change in schedule with the Board of Selectmen, changing their meeting with the Board of Health to February 8. She also discussed her appointment to the Dept of Public Health's Local Health Commission 2000. Meeting adjourned at 6:45 pm.
