HomeMy WebLinkAbout1998-03-12 Board of Health MinutesBoard of Health Meeting March 12, 1998 The meeting was called to order at 6:00 PM in the Berger Room, 16 Lowell Street, Reading, Massachusetts by Chairperson James J. Nugent. Member Cynthia Richards and Selectmen Sally Hoyt as liaison to the Board were present. The minutes of January 18, 1998 were accepted 2:0:0. Old Business • Congratulations to Health Services Administrator were given by the Board on passing the Certified Health Officers Exam. • Limited discussion on massage license fee schedule. • Note of member Jean Garafoli resignation from the Board. Discussion was directed to the Health Administrator for more information regarding a replacement. At the present time no citizen has applied to the clerk's office. New Business + Patricia Ann Quinn was interviewed for massage therapy license. Application in order, excluding national board exam. The Board voted 2:0:0 that a Temporary License be awarded ending October 1, 1998. Proof must be presented to Health Administrator of passing Boards by 10/1/98 for license renewal. + Diane Johnston was issued a Temporary massage therapy license with the condition she pass the National Boards by June 30, 1998 (vote 2:0:0) + Bagel World and Deli owners presented plans of their restaurant to the Board. Building permits are pending, Interview and inspection by Health Inspector, pending review of Reading Health requirements discussed with the owner by the Chairperson. The owner and his son were thanked for their time before the Board . • Map 91 Lot A and B Flood Plan was presented by engineer and attorney. Motion to accept flood plan made by Cynthia Richards: To Accept plan Lot A and B Map 91 plot 1 vote 2:0:0. + Mosquito control project discussed. Copy of legal notice posted in Boston Globe February by Project manager. All Town "no sprays" have been notified. Sally Hoyt will notify the town, as well, at the Selectmen's meeting during liaison report. NEXT MEETING April 2, 1998 Adjourned at 7:10 PM Respectfully submitted by, Jane M.
