June It, 1998
The meeting was called to order at 6:00 P.M. in the Berger Room, 16 Lowell Street, Reading, Massachusetts by
Chairperson James J. Nugent, Jr., Member Cynthia Richards and Selectmen Sally Hoyt as liaison to the Board were
present.
The minutes of May 28, 1998 were read and accepted (2:0:0)
New Business
♦ Public Health nurse unable to attend meeting. Will present at September 10, 1998 meeting.
♦ Massage Therapy license extended until return of certificates of National Boards until September. Early, Boris
and Miller 2:0:0. Candidates will present certificate to the Administrator and a report to the Board will be
made. No further interview necessary.
♦ Discussion of opening for Board of Health position. Two applications.
♦ Restaurant changes: Bibba's will become Pazza Cucina with new owner, Dragon Corner store, new owner,
Libety Bell, new owner and Mandarin of Reading, new owner.
♦ Discussion of Fook Hoi Restaurant court case discussion.
Old Business
♦ Ash Street reptile complaint discussed. BOH working with Animal Control Officer on issue and Police
Department.
♦ Reading/Stoneham Tobacco Control Program - Stoneham BOH vote 3:0:0 to go smoke-free September 30,
1998.
♦ July meeting cancelled.
