r, motion was made by Mr. Wm. Hughes to accept the minutes of
May 11 with ra change of Secretary, from C. Shea to K.
Kaminer. Mr,. J. Fallon seconded the motion canr:{ the ,cage was

Miss Stephanie Johnson appeared beiare the recreation

baseball game ca'i:'. Barrows School Field. After some
discussion, the committee recommended Mr. Hurton put ii
writing, as detailed accounting of what happened, including
his complaint to the Director of Minor League Youth

written accounting, an in-depth investigation will be

A motion was made by Mr. L. Warnock: to charge the Reading
YMCA .50 cents per child, for use of the Grant: Municipal
pool. The motion was seconded by Mr. J. Fallon. "r'h7e:} vote

A copy of a letter to Ruth Cagan from Arthur W. Kramer, Jr.
concerning a litter problem at Little League ''ark: has been
received and acknowledged.
A request has been made to the Reading Board of Health for a
pre -opening inspection date of June 14, 1988, for Grant
Municipal Pool.
I°l letter of resignation to the Recreaat7.on Committee has been
received and accepted from Peter C. Hi.chborn.

vote was unanimous.

Mr. Hughes informed the committee that the terms of the
current Chairperson and Vice Chairperson/Secretary are
completed. The board will discuss filling these posts at
the July meeting. Mr. Wm. Hughes and Ms. Kathy Rybickj have
indicated they will seek the positions.

Chris Copeland reported to the committee that pion ups for
sldfYlfYier programs went very smoothly and can be judged
successful.
Chris further reported counselors have been selected and
hired for the summer season.

A mot. i con ° was made: by R. Coca, and seconded by L. Warnock to
grant permission to f°osberg Inc. (Dan Jones) to i"i(ia've •'a.
softball tournament on June 24, 25 and 26, with 10% of the
gross to be returned to he Town of Reading, The vote was

Chris Copeland submitted a report for t:h7ra past year on items
that she indicated need to be remedied. Further she spoke
of plans for the future of the program. A discussion
followed.
The committee agreed there is as need for a July meeting.
Kate Kaminer volunteered to serve on the Master Park Plan.
...i e committee thanked Garry Donavan for h i s years of service
to the Recreation Committee,
as he w i l l not be re-applying
for committee membership.
There being no further business, a motion wa::"a made by J.
Connelly to adjourn the meeting at Jos P .M . , seconded by G.
Donovan. The vote was unanimous.
