October 17,1990
A meeting of the Recreation Committee was called to order at
7:30p.m. by Chairman J. Fallon. Present were committee members
C. Kaminer, J. Connelly, C. Swymer, F. Conover, T. McGrath, as-
sociate members S. Sullivan & S Quinlan, L. Salter arrived at
7:35 and M. Williams at 7:40. Citizens present were Peter Mos-
cariello and Joan Cassidy.
The minutes of the previous meeting, Sept. 12 were approved as
amended. 3-0-2.
The minutes of the Reading Youth Basketball Meeting, September
20, 1990 were discussed. J. Connelly made a suggestion on the
fee schedule. J. Fallon suggested tabling discussion.
Peter Moscariello, baseball coach, requested permission to con-
duct the Reading Baseball School Feb. 18-22, Monday - Friday,
1:30-3:30 and to reserve the Field House from 1:30 - 5:30. He
also would like to reserve the old gym in case of conflict. He
would pay custodial and other fees. Also he requested June or
July for Summer Baseball School. Motion to sponser Reading
Baseball School February 18-22 from 1:30 - 5:30 by F. Conover,
2nd by J. Connelly. Unanimous vote for Reading Baseball School.
P. Moscariello also asked they were covered under an umbrella
policy for the town. Lesley will get a ruling from Town Counsel.
At 7:50 Joan Cassidy from EMARC gave an overview of the program.
She has been director for 15 years. There are 18 children in the
program serving the social and recreational needs of the children
from the 5 surrounding towns. She hoped it would at least be
level funded for the next year because of the need of the
program.
Supervisors Report:
Ms. Wexler went over the report commenting on her meeting with
Drew Billilies regarding intergrating the after school program.
Old Business:
L. Salter will have a written proposal to use Pearl St School for
Teen Center for next meeting.

F Conover had nothing to report on the Pepsi Machine project.
New Business:
Mr. Fallon announced there will be a retreat at Tannerville on
October 27 from 9- 4. Preliminary budget information is due
Nov. 9. The next meeting of the Recreation Committee will be
held Nov. 7 to come to agreement on the budget, the main concern
is Lesley's salary. J. Connelly announced he will not be at
meeting.
