September 13, 1990
7:35 p.m. Chairman Pacino called the meeting to order in Room 210 of the Reading
Memorial High School.
Members present: Ed Murphy, Phil Pacino, Jack Russell and Dolores Carroll.
Reviewed and accepted Minutes of Meeting #177 by a vote of 3-0-1.
Chairman Pacino reported that he mailed Town Counsel a copy of the Land Use
Committee Article and to date, he has not responded.
Also, that he was advised by Town Manager Peter Hechenbleikner that relevant to Article
4, the percentage paid on health insurance premiums is still subject to negotiations and that
a definite figure was not needed to come before Town Meeting, as they approve the
provision and not the percentage. Town Meeting allows the Selectmen and Town Manager
to negotiate a new percentage.
The provision of General Laws Chapter 32B, Section 7A, allows a deviation from the 50-50
split.
Reading Municipal Light Department will follow the Town's decision.
On motion of Jack Russell it was voted to recommend Article 4 by a vote of 4-0-0.
Meeting adjourned at 7:17 p.m. to attend the Special Town Meeting.
Next meeting to be held on September 19, 1990.
