y,
March 9, 1993
7:30 p.m. Meeting called to order in the Employees' Lounge at
Town Hall.
Members present: Phil Pacino, Ed Murphy, Jack Russell, George
Theophanis and Dolores Carroll.
Following the reading of Minutes #208, on motion of Jack Russell,
seconded by Dolores Carroll, the minutes were accepted by a
vote of 4-0-1 (abstension of George Theophanis).
The Committee was joined by Town Planner Jonathan Edwards to
review Article 10 of the Annual Town Meeting which deals with a
proposed Planned Residential Development in an area of south
Main Street. If Town Meeting agrees with this proposed
amendment to the Zoning Map, this overlay district would
permit a townhouse arrangement in said area, while keeping
the present property in tact.
Other advantages include:
- No increase in density
- Improved entrance/exit roads
- More open space
- Less impact on wetlands
- Preservation of existing property
The other option is a subdivision; this does not require Town
Meeting's approval.
The consenus of several abutters interviewed is that, considering
the choices offered, the PRD is preferred.
On motion of Jack Russell, seconded by Ed Murphy, the Committee
voted to recommend Article 10 by a vote to 5-0.
8:55 p.m. On motion of Jack Russell, seconded by George
Theophanis, the meeting was adjourned.
Respectfully submitted,
Dolores S. Carroll
