ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS
MINUTES JUNE 17, 1993

A meeting of the Zoning Board of Appeals was held in the
Selectmen's Meeting Room of the Town Hall, 16 Lowell
Street, Reading, MA at 7:00.
The scheduled public hearing was on the petition of Mobil
Oil Corporation who was seeking a Variance under Section
5.1.2 and 5.2.3.4 of the Reading Zoning By-Laws from the
front yard setbacks to allow for a canopy and pump islands
in connection with a proposed improvement at its existing
service station located at 1330 Main Street, Reading, MA.
Ms. Wieworka stated that the Board had received a letter
from the attorney representing Mobil Oil Corporation.
Mr. Jarema read the letter dated June 3, 1993 stating that
Mobil was uncertain whether to move forward with the
present proposed site plan. They asked to withdraw the
present application without prejudice.
At 7:15 Mr. Tucker moved to accept the request of the
attorney for Mobil Oil Corporation asking to withdraw
without prejudice their petition for the service station
located at 1330 Main Street, Reading, MA. Mr. Jarema
seconded and the motion passed with a vote of 3-0.
ELECTION OF OFFICERS FOR JULY 1993 THROUGH JUNE 1994
At 7:25 P.M. Ms. Wieworka moved to nominate John Jarema
for Chairman. Mr. Tucker seconded and the motion passed
with a vote of 4-0-1 with Mr. Jarema abstaining.
Mr. Jarema then moved to nominate Mr. Tucker as Vice
Chairman. Ms. Wieworka seconded and the motion passed with
a vote of 4-0-1 with Mr. Tucker abstaining.
The Board then discussed that a member was needed to
represent the Zoning Board of Appeals on the Housing
Partnership. Mr. Coote stated that he would be interested.
At 7040 Mr. Tucker moved to nominate Mr. Coote to represent
the Zoning Board of Appeals on the Housing Partnership.
Ms. Wieworka seconded and the motion passed with a vote of
4-0-1 with Mr. Coote abstaining.
At 7:50 P.M. a motion was made and seconded to adjourn, and
the Board voted unanimously to do so.
